Poster design Poem

For this project there was a poem assigned to me. This was not just making a poster based on the poem. It had to reflect the character and feeling of the poem. So I started word by word looking for a meaning and at the end I gave it my own meaning to it. Based on my perspective this is how the poster turned out. This poem screamed pain, such a deep cry from the heart, thats how I came with the title 'Hartenkreet' or in English meaning a cry for help or a cry from the heart. 
Poem 2 had a reflective and shouting character for me. As a title, 'Cry of the Heart' strongly brought out the inner nature and meaning of all the words for me. Many vulnerable but also expressive themes were presented in the poem, often with high-contrast words or contradictions. The need for a catharsis, a call for help and rescue was central. I visualized this screaming character by working with rough, texture-rich drawing materials and with wasco I achieved the screaming character of the poem. It starts with the word 'lucky yellow' and that color speaks to the duality of the poem, in contrast to black as the color for the title. Even though it starts with a 'happiness yellow' soft cheerful word, later in the poem you get to meet the melancholic sadness.
